This Kanazawa Night Foodie Tour is your gateway to uncovering these hidden culinary treasures with the help of a friendly local guide.
We'll start with a stroll through Katamachi, known for its eclectic mix of eateries and bars. Our first stop is a authentic Japanese restaurant with a style called Kappo which features local, fresh and seasonal ingredients prepared simply to highlight their natural flavors, paired with exquisite local sake or other drinks.
After the first stop, we'll also explore the historic Samurai residential streets, where you can admire the traditional architecture and get a glimpse of Kanazawa's rich samurai heritage. The area is beautiful as it is. However, If you know where to look into —small details such as little rocks and bay windows— you can truely feel the aesthetics of Samurai.
Next, warm up with comforting oden at a cozy restaurant, where you can savor a variety of delicious, simmered dishes. Complement your meal with local sake, beer or other drinks in a relaxed, retro atmosphere.
We wrap up the tour at a sake bar where you can have matcha and Japanese sweets too. The bar has Kiki-sake style, where you can enjoy all unique, different tastes of three to five kinds of sake. If you are interested, you can learn local ways to arrange sake as well!

Kanazawa isn’t just renowned for its food—it’s also celebrated for its rich history. Tonight, step back in time as we wander through the magical Samurai residential streets. At the last stop, you’ll embark on a kiki-sake experience, sampling 3 to 5 varieties of sake with distinct flavors, all expertly guided by the knowledgeable master. As you savor each sake, the master will introduce you to local drinking customs, from unique serving methods to traditional pairings, giving you a deeper appreciation for Kanazawa’s sake culture. Afterward, unwind with a cup of matcha, perfectly accompanied by seasonal Japanese sweets which offers a delightful end to your authentic Kanazawa experience.

- Out of respect for our other guests and to ensure the best tour for everyone, we must start the tour on time.
- Please note that if you are late for more than 15 minutes than meeting time (10 mins before the tour starting time), you will not be able to join the tour, get refund or rescheduled.
- You will not be able to join the tour, get a refund or reschedule if you are late for the tour and miss the group.
- If you're vegetarian, please be aware that lunch choice and amount is limited. (Of course, we will try to arrange as much as possible.)
- Please inform us at least one day before the tour if you have any dietary requests or allergies to mention.
- Note: Requests made on the day of the tour cannot be accommodated.
